Prog8 is a modern compiled programming language for the classic 6502 CPU family, designed to make retrocomputing projects faster and more productive. It provides structured syntax, optimized code generation, and convenient tooling for developing on machines like the Commodore 64, VIC-20, Commander X16, and other 6502-based systems. The P8UG (Prog8 Users Group) is a loosely affiliated community of retro computing enthusiasts who enjoy exploring Prog8. We connect primarily through Discord and occasionally over video conferences to share tips, projects, and discuss the language's features and future.
